Recycling old tennis balls

Picture
Recycling Balls

Islington Council and GLL work with us to recycle tennis balls at Highbury Fields.

Please leave used balls in the hut at Highbury Fields. The park keepers count them and arrange collection every time numbers reach 200.

Even better:
We receive £40 for every 200 balls that are collected which we use for the benefit of Highbury Fields users generally.

We have put the money raised so far towards buying a defibrillator for Highbury Fields which is kept in the hut and the staff are trained in its use. We have also installed new good quality benches on all courts.

The charity takes balls from many venues round the country and, to find out what happens to the balls, please click on link below.

Tens of thousands of balls are recycled nationwide (not just us!) and balls are given to Save The Children, NSPCC, Barnardo’s, Under Privileged Nurseries & Schools, Children's Homes, Animal Rescue Centres, Dog Shelters & The RSPCA with cash donations being made to Make A Wish, Cancer Research UK, The British Heart Foundation, The Alzheimer’s Society, The National Autistic Society & Help For Heroes.

If you have any questions, please ask at the hut or speak to Caroline Davidson.
