Middlesex Winter Floodlit League 2014-2015
We had one men's team and two ladies' teams taking part.
Men’s 1, East Division 7. Our men had a great season near the top of the division for most of the winter. Frustratingly, they ended up in 3rd place out of 9 which doesn't guarantee promotion next season. This was in spite of winning 3 out of 4 sets on average so the standard was extremely high. Well done to all the players. Click on link for full results for Division 7.
Ladies’ 1, East Division 4. Our ladies first team had a fantastic season and have secured promotion having come 2nd out of 8 teams. They notched up exactly the same number of points as the top team so the % of games won came into the reckoning. Congratulations to the squad. Click link for more data. Ladies' 2, East Division 5. L2 has ended in 5th place out of 9 teams, a great result in a strong division. Newly promoted, this was an impressive performance as they had to adjust to a higher standard of play. L2 are well positioned to aim for promotion next winter so well done to the squad. Click link for full analysis. |

Aegon Team Tennis Middlesex 2014
Our men entered this competition for the first time this year and, after a shaky start, they regrouped and put in a good show to claim a fourth spot finish. The standard was extremely high and challenged our players to raise their game to achieve the right results. This event is a mixture of singles and doubles so a departure for the club.
Promotion is out of reach this time but the squad has gained insight into what will be needed next year. Captain Henry Horton says it has helped develop the team so that it will start from a position of strength in 2015. Click on link for full results. |
